WEST SPRINGFIELD – Elizabeth J. (Manning) Stevens, 62, of Hemlock Hill Road died Tuesday at home surrounded by her loving family. Elizabeth was born in Trieste, Italy, the daughter of Robert and Marisa Manning. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Hartford Hospital, Holyoke Hospital and Baystate Medical Center, receiving multiple awards throughout her career. Elizabeth was well known for her generousity and touched the lives of many people. An avid animal lover, she donated to multiple animal charities and shelters, as well as finding homes for animals in need. Elizabeth leaves her loving husband Lawrence Stevens; a son Anthony Stevens and his wife Pam of South Hadley; a daughter Teresa Dupere and her husband Adam of Easthampton; her parents Robert and Marisa Manning of West Springfield; a sister Shirley Pacosa and her husband Walter of West Springfield; two grandchildren Alexander and Abigail Stevens of South Hadley; a niece Lauren Pacosa; nephew Evan Pacosa and her beloved aunt Franca in Italy. She also leaves various other relatives both here and in Italy. She also leaves Dinah and Dino, her cherished adopted shelter dogs. A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church Saturday, March 31st at 10:00 am. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. In Elizabeth's honor, donations to support Thomas J. O'Conner Animal Adoption Center may be made out to "Memorial Account for Elizabeth Stevens" and sent to Easthampton Savings Bank, 605 Granby Road, South Hadley, MA 01075, or alternatively dropped off at the memorial service.
