Elizabeth L. (Marsh) Whitaker
1921 – 2011

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Elizabeth L. (Marsh) Whitaker, 90 of Morgan Road died Thursday in Hartford Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born in Springfield, the daughter of the late Ralph and Lillian (Gero) Marsh. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1938 and has lived in West Springfield most of her life. She worked for the Suffield, CT School system and also at the Warner & Swasey Company. Elizabeth was a member of the Eastern Star and the First Congregational Church and won many ribbons for her award winning hand crafted Vestamayd rugs. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and her talking feline pet "Emily". She leaves her husband of 69 years Harold W. Whitaker; a son Kim Whitaker of North Brookfield; two daughters Gail Krawczynski and her husband Donald of West Springfield and Lorrie Cotton and her husband Jack of West Springfield. She also leaves five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a brother Leslie Marsh. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday at 7:00pm with burial in Paucatuck Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
