Ellen M. (Claus) Dzienisz, 90, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 13, 2025.  Born in Springfield, daughter of the late Emil H. Claus and stepsister of the late Vincent Claus, she grew up in Springfield and attended Springfield and Agawam schools.  She moved to Feeding Hills in 1947.  Ellen was a graduate of the former Springfield Hospital Nursing School and worked as a night supervisor at Baystate Medical Center for eighteen years, retiring in 1974.  After retiring, Ellen volunteered for the Agawam Senior Center, Meals on Wheels program. She was also known for her fabulous homemade chocolates and fudge. In her later years she was often seen at the Agawam Senior Center playing Bingo or eating ice cream with her friends. She loved cats, especially Siamese and Maine Coon cats. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.  Her husband, Jan Dzienisz died in 1988.  She leaves three God-sons, Craig M. Rovelli of Agawam, Jeff A. Rovelli of Wilmington, Vermont, and Jason M. Reed of Chicopee, and her best friend of many years, Barbara (Borgatti) Rovelli of Feeding Hills.  Calling hours are Friday from 2-3pm at the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Funeral Home Service at 3pm.
