Labrecque
February 6, 1930 – October 21, 2017
Ellen Marie (Kelly) Labrecque, 87, died Saturday at home. She was born in Jersey City, NJ, daughter of the late Hugh and Ellen Marie Kelly, and Henrique DeOrazio. Ellen worked as an administrative assistant at Mass Mutual Insurance Agency and was a longtime communicant at St. Patrick's Church. She enjoyed playing piano, bingo, knitting and crocheting. She was very active in various ladies groups as well as the Yacht club with her husband where they retired for 20 years in Nettles Island, Florida. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Renald Philippe Labrecque, in 2008. She leaves her daughter Renee Marie Labrecque Simon of South Hadley, and four grandchildren whom she cherished with all her heart: Zachary Alexander Simon and his fiancée Amanda Sarah Edmonds, US Navy, Norfolk, VA; Nicholas Tyler Simon, US Navy, Pensacola, FL; Jake Hunter Simon and Kayla Marie Simon of South Hadley, MA. She also leaves her brother-in-law Roger LaBrecque and his wife Virginia, of Fort Myers, FL; and sister-in-law Gertrude Labrecque of Williamsburg, VA; her nephew and Godson, Marc Alan LaBrecque and his wife Joanne, of Whately, MA; her nephew Francois Labrecque and his wife Jeanne, of Williamsburg, VA and her niece Maureen Labrecque Desrochers and her husband Vincent, of Kernersville, NC; and several, great and great-great nieces and nephews. The celebration of life will be held Saturday October 28, with calling hours at Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley from 9:00 to 10:30 am, followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church at 10:45 am and burial in Evergreen Cemetery immediately following.
