AGAWAM – Elmyra M. (Powers) Hamelin, 90 of Adams Street died peacefully Wednesday at home. Elmyra was born in Springfield and has been a lifelong resident of Agawam. She retired in 2009 from Heritage Hall Nursing Home where she worked as a registered nurse. She previously worked at Springfield Hospital. She was the wife of the late Leo Hamelin. She leaves a son James Hamelin of Agawam; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her daughter Carolyn G. Banning died in 2008. A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. The Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.
