WEST SPRINGFIELD - Elsie L. "Sue" (Cody) Alexander, 73 passed away Monday October 1, 2012 in Athens, TN. She was born and raised in West Springfield, graduating from West Springfield High School in 1957. She lived in Waldorf, MD before moving back to West Springfield in 1983. She worked and retired from Westover Air Reserve Base, where she made many friends. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, shopping, but most of all spending time with her family. She was the daughter of the late William F. and Clara M. (Cavicchi) Cody and was predeceased by her ex-husband John R. Alexander; son Randy Bestpitch and brother William "Bill" Cody. She leaves her daughter Susan A. Brosseau and her husband Bryan of West Springfield; a son John Alexander and his wife Teresa of Athens, TN; a step-daughter Nan Suksta of Laurel, MD and a brother Jack Cody and his wife Eleanor of West Springfield. She also leaves five grandchildren John Tyler Alexander, Ashley Alexander Pillion, Joshua Alexander, Cody Brosseau and Brett Brosseau; two step-granddaughters Jessica Pilkerton and Rachel Heron, two great grandchildren Brooklyn Alexander and Jaley Pillion, her longtime dearest friend Gloria Masotti Schlax of West Springfield and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday at 10:00am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.
