Obituary

Eugene A. "Gene" "Butch" LaBranch Jr., died Thursday in Baystate Medical Center. He grew up in Agawam, lived in the Westfield area for 30 years and retired in Florida for 7 years before moving back to Western Mass to be closer to family. He worked as tractor trailer driver for Digital for many years and in maintenance at Longmeadow High School for several years. Butch loved riding his Harley Davidson and listening to the blues. He and his wife took many trips together. Gene was also a member of American Legion Post 185. He leaves his wife Marilyn (Duby) LaBranch, his children Carrie Burbank and her husband Brian of Feeding Hills, Daniel LaBranch and his wife Paula of Westfield, Hope Nasso of FL and Eugene LaBranch III of FL, two sisters Barbara Foley and Joan Whitehead, both of Agawam and his grandchildren Hayley, Elizabeth, Juliet, Nicholas, Alison, Dominique, Landon, Timothy, Ken, Chelsea, Eugene, Tanya and Kristina. He loved spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Calling hours to celebrate his life will be Tuesday at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:00 pm followed by a service at 6:00 pm. For more information please go to curranjones.com.
