Evalyn "Eva" R. Philbrick, 92, of Southwick, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 15, 2023. Eva grew up in West Springfield, later moving to Agawam, where she began Evalyn's Beauty Salon.  Over the years, Eva also resided in Old Lyme, CT and Springfield, MA, before finally moving to Southwick, where she spent many years surrounded by loving family and friends.  Eva is predeceased by her ex-husband, Ben Bassani, as well as her daughter, Candy (Bassani) Martin.  She leaves behind her daughter, Kim (Bassani) Manning and her husband Michael, son-in-law Kenneth Martin, sister Betty Edmunds, grandchildren Jesse Martin, Sarah (Martin) Wood and husband James, Timothy Manning and wife Nicole, Erin (Manning) Hagerty, Brian Manning, and great-grandchildren Elijah Wood, Dakota Wood and his wife Bree, Isiah Wood, Fiona Manning, Maxwell Manning and Isabelle Hagerty . Evalyn received years of loving care from her family, which grew to include longtime caregiver Kristin Martin and all of the staff at Mercy Adult Day. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-7pm at Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, West Springfield. Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Friday, at 11am at Holy Cross Church, 221 Plumtree Road, Springfield.
