Filomena (Albano) DeMaio, 88, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 11, 2024. Born in Bracigliano, province of Salerno, Italy, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Giovanina (Santaniello) Albano, she came to the United States in 1955 and lived in Agawam for over fifty-five years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She leaves her husband of sixty-seven years, Francesco DeMaio, a son, Agostino "Frank" DeMaio of Feeding Hills, two daughters and their husbands, Filomena "Nene" and Michael Garreffi of Boca Raton, FL, Joann and Peter Rigali, her former daughter-in-law, Jennifer DeMaio, eight grandchildren, Victoria, Marisa, Francesco, Michael, Michael, Mario, Francesco, Nico, eight great-grandchildren, Francesca, Michael, Ariana, Nico, Carmela, Siena, Francesco, Giuliano and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Alfonso, Joseph "Geppino", Ignazio "Al" Albano and two sister-in-laws, Assuntina and Antonietta. Calling hours are Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 1-3pm at the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Funeral Home service at 3pm. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Autism Research at www.autism.org.
