FEEDING HILLS – Flora A (Provost) Allen, 99, of South West Street died Monday at home surrounded by her loving family and caregivers. Flora was born in Agawam and has lived here her entire life. She enjoyed working in her yard and working as a cashier at the Giant Slide at the Big E. She loved everyone there and they loved her. A communicant of the former St. Theresa's Church, she was a past member of the Springfield Turnverein, where she played on the volleyball team, the Springfield Turners. Her husband Harold F. Allen died in 1996. She leaves five children; Nancy Cooley, Robert, Harold and Kenneth Allen and Kathleen St. Pierre; twenty four grandchildren; forty two great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Flora was predeceased by two sons Gerry and Steven Allen; three great granddaughters Nicolette Cooley, Jennifer and Jessica Szczepanek; her brother Arthur and two sisters Angenette Hunter and Connie Barber. The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Shirley from Hospice of Western Mass. The funeral will be held Saturday at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday at 11:00am followed by burial in Springfield Street Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.
