Florence E. Berrelli

WEST SPRINGFILED – Florence E. (Maniscalchi) Berrelli, 94, formerly of Hillcrest Avenue died Saturday in a local nursing home. Florence was born in Enfield and has lived in West Springfield most of her life. She worked for the former NYNEX for 25 years until her retirement in 1974. She was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of American. Florence was a dedicated communicant of the former St. Ann's Church and member of the St. Ann's Sodality. Florence was known for the three "B's" - Baking, Bingo and Babysitting. Her husband of 52 years James G. Berrelli Sr. died in 1999. She leaves her son James G. Berrelli Jr. and his wife Susan; a daughter Christine R. Chase. She also leaves a brother Vincent Maniscalchi; sister Ann Goyette; five grandchildren Rebecca Perry, Jake Chase, Heather Klaus, James Berrelli III and Gina Carosello and seven great grandchildren Francis, Sicily, Braxton, Jayce, Jack, Andrew and Emma. She was predeceased by a son-in-law Greg Chase earlier this year. The family would like to thank the staff at Country Estates for the loving care given over the past few years. The funeral will be held Wednesday 9:00am at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home with Liturgy in St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 11:00 followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday prior to the Mass from 9:00 – 10:30. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the St. Thomas Church, Building Fund.
