Obituary

Florence Ann (Russo) Cote, 90, passed away peacefully Friday surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Carmela (Carusone) Russo and Luca Russo. Florence was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Robert and her brothers Patrick, Joseph and Albert Russo, her sisters Margaret (Russo) McCarron and Rose (Russo) O'Neill and her son-in-law Joseph Jarnot. She leaves her 5 beloved children, Diana (Cote) Jarnot of Granby, CT, Robert A. Cote Jr. of Springfield, Cheryl (Cote) Sigler and her husband Danny of Springfield, Sandra (Cote) Kenyon and her husband James of Feeding Hills and Randy Cote and his wife Linda of Enfield, CT. Florence also leaves nine grandchildren, Joseph, Richard, Kellie, Danny, Deejay, Nicole, Jennifer, Meghan and Stacey, twelve great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Mary (Russo) Scott of Belchertown and also her neighbor and friends, (whom she has become very close), Maryanne and Brian McKenna and Ellen Bonafilia and several nieces and nephews. She loved doing different crafts, ceramics, crocheting and decorating cakes, cookies, also sewing some of her clothes and for her girls when they were little. Florence worked for the former Forbes and Wallace Department Store in downtown Springfield before its closing and then went to work at the MassMutual Financial Group, where she retired in March 1992. During her retirement, she went to STCC with her late sister Rose, and took some courses in Basic Computers, Business Computers and Repair and Maintenance and then volunteered at the Jewish Community Center teaching seniors how to use the computer. The funeral will be Thursday October 8th starting with a calling hour at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home from 8:30am to 9:30am  followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills at 10am. Committal service to follow at the Mass Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the: American Lung Association in Massachusetts, National Processing Center, P.O.
