Frances H. (Humberston) Ferre Brunell, 101, died Friday at Wingate in East Longmeadow. She was born in Springfield, daughter of the late Frank and Lillian Humberston. She spent most of her life in Springfield and later moved to West Springfield and then Agawam. Frances retired in 1978 as supervisor of the catalogue department for the Springfield City Library. She belonged to Christ Church Cathedral where she was a member of the St. Mary's Guild and the Ushers Guild. She also belonged to the Western Mass Library Club and the Springfield Women's Club. She was predeceased by her first husband Eldredge Ferre, her second husband Arthur Brunell, her daughter Marsha in 1973, her brother Kenneth Humberston in 2005 and her sister Virginia Denton in 2014. She leaves her niece Paula Marsden of Monson, two nephews Kenneth and Mark from Oregon, great and great great nieces and nephews, a great, great great niece and her very dear friends Marcia, Jane and Joan. The funeral service will be Friday March 29 ^th at the Christ Church Cathedral, 35 Chestnut St., Springfield at 10am followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. No calling hours.
