Obituary

On December 3, 2023 Frances "Cookie" Albro was reunited with family and friends in Heaven.  She was a longtime resident of Agawam.  She graduated from Agawam High School in 1960 and still remained close with several friends whom she graduated with. Cookie worked as an Office Manager for Superior Printing Inks for more than 25 years and then as a Bus Monitor for the Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative for over 15 years before retiring in 2022.  A woman of great faith, she was actively involved as a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church.  Cookie was a board member of the Catholic Woman's Club and would always volunteer to participate in their annual Christmas Bazaar.  She enjoyed creating delicious baked goods in her kitchen including cakes, candy and mountains of her special Italian cookies.  Cookie loved her family and friends deeply and would gladly give everything she had to help wherever and whenever she was needed.  Frances leaves her sister-in-law and friend Kathleen "Kate" Albro, her two nephews; Mike Albro and his wife Becky, and Tony Albro and his wife Jessica, and three beautiful and beloved grandchildren Jason, Nicholas, and Emma Albro.  She also leaves cousins Keith and Lynn David, Bob and Deb Griffin, Linda Mariani and Butch Mariani and many other family members. Cookie was predeceased by her parents Cosmy and Clementina (Mariani) Albro, and her brothers Al, Tony and Bobby Albro. She will be missed beyond what words can describe. The family wishes to thank the staff at Baystate Medical Center and JGS Lifecare/Spectrum Hospice for their wonderful commitment to her care. Friends and family are invited to the funeral on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 9am at the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Mass at Sacred Heart Church at 10 am.  The burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Friday December 8, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Sacred Heart Parish, 1061 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills, MA 01030 or the Catholic Women's Club of Agawam, 833 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
