Francis J. Blokland, 56, of Plateau Circle died Saturday in Baystate Medical Center. Francis was born in Springfield and has lived in West Springfield most of his life. He worked as an Injection Mold Operator for the former Hamilton Standard and more recently as a greeter for Walmart. An avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, Old Movies and Community Theatre, he also loved everything about family gatherings and reunions and playing the numbers. He leaves his beloved sister and brother Diane M. and John F. Blokland. His funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday at 11:00am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service Friday morning from 10:00-11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
