Francis P.
Drudi
November 9, 1929 – March 18, 2014
Francis P. Drudi, 84 years old and life-long resident of West Springfield, passed away on Tuesday at Baystate Medical Center. He was the son of Peter and Stella (Diegoli) Drudi. Fran's career working at the Eastern States Farmer's Exchange and managing L. R. Hawthorne & Sons in Hazardville, CT, gave him the knowledge to found his own business, Drudi's Lawn Service of West Springfield. Fran and his beloved wife of 60 years, Sylvia (Ferrara), enjoyed traveling to California, the Grand Canyon, Florida, Ireland, and two trips to Italy and Hawaii. Fran was very proud of his Italian heritage and followed the stock market daily. He reminded his children and grandchildren to save their pennies, invest well, and turn off the lights. Retirement gave Fran time to play solitaire, and do crossword and jigsaw puzzles. He was a member of the West Springfield U.N.I.C.O. and communicant of the former St. Ann's Church. Fran will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Lori (Lorraine) Drudi Neffinger and her husband Joe of Westfield, his son Michael and his wife Maureen of Deerfield Beach, Florida, his son Jerry and his wife Karen of West Springfield. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Matthew Neffinger and his wife Mary of Ferrisburg, VT, Anthony Neffinger and Lyndsay Johnson of Sturbridge, MA, Jay Drudi and his wife Janessa of Woburn, MA, and Jennifer Drudi of West Springfield. He has two beautiful-joyful great-grandchildren Rowan and Cecelia Neffinger. He was predeceased by his sister Terry Rider. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday from 4:00 – 7:00pm. Family and friends may meet at St. Thomas the Apostle Church on Saturday at 9:00am for the Liturgy of Christian Burial. A private burial will take place in St. Thomas Cemetery at a later date.
