Francis M. Lundrigan

1933 – 2018

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Francis M. Lundrigan, 85, died Wednesday in Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  Francis was born in Springfield, graduated from Trade High School and has lived in West Springfield most of his life.  He was a Springfield Police Officer for 33 years until his retirement in 1996.  Family and Faith came first in his life.  He loved Sunday's, going to Mass with the "love of his life", his wife and breakfast at American Classic.  He kept busy puttering around his house and yard, helping others, and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.  An avid New England sports fan, he was a collector of baseball memorabilia, which he displayed in his workshop/garage.  He leaves his wife of 61 years Mary (Rooke) Lundrigan; four daughters Loreen Lundrigan, Lisa LaBrecque and her husband Doug, Linda Garvey and her husband Jack and Leanne Greene and her husband Jason.  He also leaves eight grandchildren Sarai Martin and her husband Dan, Jonathan, Stephen and David LaBrecque, Matteo Garvey, Mary, Jackson and Leah Greene.  Family and friends may meet at St. Thomas the Apostle Church for the Liturgy of Christian Burial Monday at 10:00am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  There are no calling hours and the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sr. Mary Caritas Cancer Center in appreciation for the loving compassionate care and support provided to him this last year, especially Kelly O'Brien, the staff at Mercy Medical Center and Weldon Rehab Center.
