Obituary

Francis L. Samson, 84, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. Born in Holyoke, son of the late Ernest and Marie (Guilbault) Samson, he moved to South Hadley in 1939. Francis was the owner of Samson Auto Body in Holyoke for many years. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter and an army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He leaves a brother and his wife, Peter and Gloriann Samson of Chicopee, three sisters, Marguerite Quesnel, Lillian Fitzell, Marie Moriarty all of South Hadley, his niece and caregiver, with whom he lived, Debra Hale of South Hadley, three grandnieces and their husbands, Tracie and Ryan Kennedy, Heather and Brian Dustin, Kimberly and Kevin Hanks, two great-grandnieces, Harper Kennedy, Lillian Dustin, and two great-grandnephews, Jacob Dustin and Edward Hanks. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Samson and a half-sister, Claire LaFlamme. The funeral will be Saturday at 11am at the CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 33 Lamb Street followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 10-11am.
