Francis "Peanuts" Wagner, 91, passed away Wednesday morning, April 27 at the Soldiers Home in Holyoke. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Carmella Donaruma Wagner in 2013. Born on June 19, 1924, he was a long-time resident of West Springfield. He was a graduate of Cathedral and served in the army in WWII. Francis retired from the United States Post Office after many years of service, and spent many of his retirement years delivering parts for Clarke's Service Station and helping out at Pipe and Book. He was an avid reader and Boston sports fan, and delighted in telling bad jokes. He leaves behind five nieces and nephews, John Donaruma, Patricia Donaruma Williford, Michael Wagner, Kenneth Wagner, and Sherryl Wagner. The funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10 am in St. Thomas Church with burial to follow at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the funeral on Tuesday at West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home from 8:30 to 9:30 am. For more information please go to curranjones.com.
