Fred J. Moodie

1958 – 2017

West Springfield – Fred J. Moodie, 58, of Main Street died Saturday, January 30, 2017 in Baystate Medical Center.  Fred was born in Springfield the son of Fred and Barbara (Basile) Moodie.  He grew up in Springfield and has lived in West Springfield for the past 15 years.  Fred served in the United States Marine Corps.  He worked in his family's Asphalt business for many years and drove a school bus for handicapped children.  He enjoyed horseshoes and fishing.  He leaves his daughter Sarah Moodie of Huntington and her mother Dawn-Marie; his fiancé Marie Leborgne and her daughter Amy Leborgne; brothers Robert and William Moodie; sisters Shelia Mack, and Barbara and Shannon Moodie.  Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by a brother Peter.  A committal service will be held in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery Chapel on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 2:00pm.  The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
