Fredrick D. Richter Jr.

1934 –2018

West Springfield – Fredrick D. Richter Jr., 84, formerly of Second Street died Wednesday at Wingate of Hampden. Fredrick was born in Springfield, the son of Fredrick and Dorothy (Preble) Richter, graduated from Technical High School and has lived in West Springfield most of his life.  He worked at Carborundum of West Springfield before retiring as the purchasing agent at Turcotte Manufacturing Company.  He was predeceased by his wife Emily (Tyrkas) Richter in 2005 and by her daughter Susan Moon in 2009.  He leaves a grandson Samuel Moon, son-in-law Donald; brother James, his wife Ginny; two nephews Jeffrey and Steven and his wife Peggy Ann.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday at 10:30 followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.
