Obituary

George J. Langevin, 73, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Holyoke, he was the son of the late Claire (Domingue) Latour and William Latour. He was a lifelong resident of South Hadley and a 1961 graduate of South Hadley High School. George was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He so loved his family and enjoyed his family gatherings by his pool and being able to open his beach house for his family to enjoy. He loved listening to music and attending the UMass Girl's Softball games. The family would like to thank the O'Connell Care at Home staff for the compassionate care that was shown to George. He leaves three brothers, Ronald Langevin and his companion, Nancy Bowser, Gary and his wife Vicki Latour all of South Hadley, Tom and his wife Cheryl Latour of Whately, two sisters, Cindy Briere of South Hadley, Cheri and her husband Todd Pyser of Easthampton, three aunts, Jean Domingue of Holyoke, Betty Miller of Chicopee, Joan Latour of Holyoke, and many nieces,nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. The funeral will be Thursday at 10am at the CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 33 Lamb Street with burial in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-8pm. Donations in memory of George may be made to The Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104-2396.
