West Springfield – George W. Moller, 89 of Circle Drive died Monday in the Holyoke Soldiers Home. George was born in Weehawken, NJ the son of the late Charles and Celine (Carton) Moller. He grew up in Springfield and lived in West Springfield since 1955. He attended Eastern University and worked as a tool maker at the Springfield Armory and a Manufacturing Engineer at United Technologies. He was a member of ASME and VFW. He was a decorated veteran of WWII participating in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge serving with the 733rd Battalion. George attended First Baptist Church and St. Thomas the Apostle Church. A talented singer, he was once a member of the Springfield Chorus. He was predeceased by his first wife Lois and leaves his present wife, Lorraine of 37 years, 6 children – Denise, David, Bryan, Gary, Cindy and Carolyn, a brother James, a sister Marjorie, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday at 9:00am with liturgy in St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 10:00am followed by a burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, First Baptist Church, W.
