George J. Walsh, age 92, died on January 27 th , 2018, at St. Camillus Health Center in Whitinsville, MA. He was born to William and Anna Walsh on October 28 th , 1925. On November 22 nd , 1945, he married the late Lorraine Boucher. They raised their family in South Hadley where they lived most of their married life. As George's health failed he made his home with his son Michael, in Uxbridge, MA. George graduated from Cathedral High School, Springfield, MA. For over thirty years he was employed by The Wall Street Journal in Chicopee. During his career he was especially proud to be part of The European Edition of The Wall Street Journal. Through the years George enjoyed deer and turkey hunting with friends, rabbit hunting with his beagles and fishing. He was also an avid Red Sox fan with Ted Williams being his favorite player. George is survived by his son Michael F. and his fiancé Cammi Modlesky, his daughter Nancy Reynolds and her husband Ed, and his brother Joseph. He also leaves five grandchildren Corey, Katy and her husband Matt, Elizabeth, Anna, Michael, a great grandson Matthew and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 4:00pm- 7:00pm, on Thursday, February 1 st , 2018, at Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home in South Hadley. The funeral will take place on Friday, 10:00am, at St. Patrick's Church, South Hadley, MA followed by burial in St. Rose Cemetery.
