Gerard J. Parent, age 73, passed away on January 10th, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on November 16th, 1941 in Lawrence, son of the late Simeon and Eva (Cloutier) Parent, he was a 1959 graduate of Springfield Trade School. He lived in Agawam for many years. Gerry was a retired electrician, and worked for over thirty-five years for Collins Electric. He was an active member and Grand Knight of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus JFK Council at St. John the Evangelist Church. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church where he was an adult altar server and a Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Thompsonville Lodge. His wife, Alice A. (Auclair) Parent died in 2008. He leaves two daughters and their husbands, Sandra M. and Richard Lombardi, Cathy A. and Steven Pelletier all of East Longmeadow, two step-sons, Robert B. Brewczynski, James B. Brewczynski, three step-daughters, FranceannPaulman, Alice Brewczynski, Jacqueline Auclair, ten grandchildren, Kate, Kaytelin, Courtney, Nicole, Matthew, Isaac, Amy, Tori, Samuel, Anastasia, three great-grandchildren, Rowan, Zachary, Anika, his good friend, Barbara Triba of Enfield, two sisters, Elaine Bowler and Marguerite Moreau both of Feeding Hills, and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers, Roland and Roger Parent. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9am from the AGAWAM CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street with a Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church at 10. The burial will be in Agawam Center Cemetery.
