Germaine Rowena (Griffin) Sims, 64, born in Springfield, was given wings to Heaven on September 7, 2016. She was born September 15, 1951 to the late Andrew H. Griffin, Sr. and Geraldine E. Griffin. Her education included graduating from Trade High School and attending classes at STCC for Social Work. Her passion for fashion inspired her to open her own clothing store in Merryville, Tennessee. She ended her working career at Pergo Inc. where she spent the last 15 years. Germaine loved her family. She also enjoyed knitting and sewing. She was an avid studier of God's word. Her outreach was continuous throughout her life even during her declining health. She continued to touch others until her last breath and left a lasting impression with her infectious smile and enjoyable laughter. Those who knew her, loved her and she loved them back wholeheartedly. She is survived by her son Marcus Griffin and wife Shatona Jones-Griffin of Smyrna, TN; granddaughter Deja Griffin of Knoxville, TN; surviving siblings, Pauline Norwood, Andrew H. Griffin, Jr., Richard Griffin, Gerald Griffin, Joan Porter, Karon Tyler, Melba Rickerson and Albert Griffin and many nieces, nephews, cousins and caring and loving friends. The funeral will be Friday at 12 noon at the Revival Time Evangelical Center, 116 Florence St., Springfield followed by burial in Oak Grove cemetery.
