Gertrude M. (Hughes) Brown, 94, died Saturday at Mt. St. Vincent Nursing Home. She grew up in Indian Orchard and Ludlow before getting married and moving to Springfield where she lived for many years. She worked at Hewlett Packard and Digital. Gert enjoyed vacationing in Florida with her husband and loved spending time with her grandkids. She was predeceased by her husband John J. Brown, her parents Raymond and Irene (Bousquet) Hughes, brothers Raymond and Robert Hughes and sister Eleanor Olier. She leaves a son Thomas Brown and his wife Melanie of Chicopee, two daughters Kathleen Nash and her husband Tom of West Springfield and Maureen Greenway and her husband Chris of Port Ewen, NY, a sister Barbara Pagnoni of Springfield, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday December 13 ^th starting with a calling hour at West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home from 9:30 to 10:30 am followed by Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Springfield at 11:00 am.
