Giovanni Cervone, 95, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Pontelatone, Province of Caserta, Italy, he came to the United States in 1966 and settled in West Springfield.  Giovanni worked as a cobbler for area shoemakers/repair shops.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, picking mushrooms, making wine and he loved to watch professional wrestling.  He was a communicant of the former St. Ann Church and presently a communicant of St. Thomas Church.  His wife, Angelina (Parillo) Cervone died in 2009, and was also predeceased by a grandson, Thomas John Cervone.  He leaves two sons and their wives, Pasquale and Denise Cervone of West Springfield, Frank and Laurie Cervone of Somers, CT, six grandchildren, Tracy Burns, Savina Cervone, Brian Cervone, Michael Cervone, Cassandra Cervone, Rachel St. Pierre, and four great-grandchildren, Angelina, Cayden, Crosby and Luna.  Calling hours are Saturday from 10am-12pm at the Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street followed by a service at 12noon.
