Gladyss E. Jensen
1939 – 2015

MONSON – Gladyss E. (Duque) Jensen, 75 of Monson died Sunday in a local nursing home. Gladyss was born in Ibarra, Ecuador, lived in Chicopee before moving to Monson in 1984. The daughter of Jose Rafael Duque Yepez and Rosa Almeida de Duque, she was distinguished and highly ranked in her class in her school years in the city of Ibarra in South America and later graduated with honors at the Catholic University of Quito Ecuador where she obtained her degree in Psychology. She was happy, loving and always willing to lend a hand for those who needed one. Besides her parents she leaves her husband Robert Jensen, two sons Frank and Renan; brothers Dr. Arturo Fabian Duque Sr., Dr. Gonzalo Renan Duque; sisters Rosa Merida Duque Piedra, and Olga Susana Duque Auffrey; step daughter Diane Jensen-Olszewski; stepson Robert Jensen Jr.; many nieces and nephews Tec. Jose Eduardo, Dr. Rene, Dr. Galo, Dr. Gustavo, Yolanda Duque, Lcdo. Wilfrido Patricio, Roberto Vinicio, Antony Javier, Dr. Arturo Jr. Ing. Ana, Doctora Silvia, Sra. Alba, M.D. Patricia, Sr., David Ernesto, Lcdo. Javier Alejandro, Luisa Duque, Rosita Duque, Joe M.D. Edwin Gonzalo Duque Ing. Pablo Esteban, Dra. Jenny, Dra. Doris, Mrs. Monica, Mrs. Alexandra and five grandchildren. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Monday at 9:00am with Liturgy in St. John the Evangelist Church at 10:00am followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.
