AGAWAM/WESTFIELD - Gloria Rose (Cocchi) Albano, 87, of 551 North Road, Westfield, died unexpectedly, but peacefully, on May 14th at home.

Born in Springfield, MA to Walter and Irma (Bartolucci) Cocchi, she married Raphael "Ralph" "Chubby" Albano, also of Springfield, in 1961, and after seven years living in Springfield, they moved to Agawam in 1968, where she lived the majority of her life until moving to Westfield in 2020.

She was predeceased by her parents and husband of 37 years. She leaves three sons, Ralph A. Albano (Christine) of Columbia, MD, Thomas C. Albano (Joanne Ashby) of Glenwood, MD and John F. Albano (Barbara Walsh) of East Longmeadow, MA; two daughters, Donna M. O'Malley (Patrick) of Durham, CT and Sandra L. Albano of Westfield, MA; a sister, Barbara Daborowski (John) of Agawam, MA, a brother, Walter Cocchi (Dolores) of Ludlow, MA, six grandchildren: Amy Albano of San Diego, CA, Kevin (Karina) Albano of Elkridge, MD, Molly Albano of Silver Spring, MD, Shane O'Malley of Durham, CT, Dagny Albano of Bellingham, WA, and Sara O'Malley of Durham, CT and three step great grandchildren: Caroline, Isabella and Abigail Mastria of Sykesville, MD. She also enjoyed spending time with her many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Gloria always considered Agawam home, where she and Ralph raised their 5 children and where she waitressed at Friendly's for over 30 years. More than anything else, her greatest joy was time spent with her family.

The funeral will be Monday at 9am from the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Mass at 10 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 123 William Street, Springfield. The burial will follow in Springfield Street Cemetery in Feeding Hills. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-5pm.
