West Springfield-Grant L. Mitchell, 80, died Saturday June 6th in Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Springfield and lived in West Springfield for most of his life. He graduated from Norwich University with B.A. in Business and from University of Massachusetts with Masters in Business. Grant was a member of Mittineague Congregational Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and the Melha Shriners. He served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lt. Company Commander in the Corp of Engineers just the Korean War and later spent 2 years in Vietnam as a civilian advisor to the Army with American Bosch. He leaves his wife Heather C. (Keay) Mitchell. The memorial service will be Saturday June 27th at 11am at the Mittineague Congregational Church. Burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery will be private. No calling hours.
