WEST SPRINGFIELD-Guy R. Begin Sr., 71, died Thursday at Country Estates. He was born in Coatitook, Quebec, Canada and lived most of his life in Westfield and later West Springfield. He worked for 40 years as an auto body repairman for West Springfield Auto Body. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriot fan who loved going to ball games. He leaves a son Guy R. Begin Jr., of W. Springfield, a daughter Rhonda Gingerich of Hartly, DE, two brothers, Conrad J. Begin and Ray M. Begin of Douglas, ten sisters, Helen Reardon of TN, Lucille Steben, Jeanne Baker and Jeannile Bonenfant all of Westfield, Emilia Manning of Monson, Gisele Crosier of W. Springfield, Pauline Greene of Rygate, VT and Lorraine McPherson, Carmen Davis and Diane Whitaker all of Douglas, four grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Gingerich and Lauren and Aaron Begin and his former wife Jane Armstrong. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 am from West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by Mass in St. Thomas Church at 10 am. Burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday 4-7 pm.
