Guy F. Waterman, 61, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Born in Springfield, son of the late Theodore and Anna (Ricapito) Waterman, he grew up in the town of Agawam. After graduating from Agawam High School in 1980, he joined the Air Force reserves. He raised his family in Southwick for twenty years and most recently resided in West Springfield. He was employed at the Department of Youth Services in Westfield, and previously worked for Western Mass Rendering and Southworth Paper Company. His passions included fishing and cooking, lovingly known as the grillmaster at family gatherings. He leaves his wife of over 30 years, Diana C. (Stavropoulos) Waterman, his daughters, Danielle L. Waterman of New York City, Marley C. Waterman of Boston, his stepson, Sean M. Lagacy of West Springfield, his grandsons Michael and Alexander Lagacy, of Chicopee, his siblings, Ted Waterman of Agawam, Deb Bouley (Al) of Agawam, John Waterman of Springfield, Patti Flinkman (Paul) of Westfield, Fred Waterman of Holyoke, Geri Morris (Gil) of West Springfield, Cris Waterman of Agawam, and his twin, Mike Waterman of Agawam. He also leaves his in-laws, Athena Townsend (Jeff) of East Longmeadow, D.J. Stavropoulos of Atlanta, GA, Maria Spear (Geof) of Westfield, and mother-in-law Sotiria Garrity of Springfield, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister-in-laws, Elaine Waterman, Patricia Haggerty, and his father-in-law John Stavropoulos. Lastly, he leaves behind his beloved bulldog, Lena. The funeral will be Saturday at 10am at the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by burial in Springfield Street Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7pm.
