West Springfield-Harold W. Lawliss, 85, went home to God Sunday in Mercy Medical Center. Born in Ludlow the son of Harold and Catherine (Phillips) Lawliss, he has lived in West Springfield for the past 55 years. He worked for Uniroyal in Chicopee for 34 years and retired from the D.P.W. in West Springfield after 19 years in 1999. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, was a member of the American Legion Post 207 in West Springfield and was a member of Mittineague Congregational Church. He leaves his wife the former Dorothy A. Martin, a daughter Sharon A. Bagley and her husband Joseph of West Springfield, two sisters-in-law Patricia Youngs of W. Springfield and Mary Dahill of Chicopee and a niece Jude Gagner of Bangor, ME. The committal service with Military Honors will be held Wednesday at 10 am at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home will be Tuesday 4-7 pm. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 am at the Mittineague Congregational Church.
