Obituary

Hattie Jean Dukette was born November 26, 1928, in Cabot, Vermont to Annie May (Naugler) and Erwin L. Lupien. Jean was part of a large family, with siblings Leon, Louis, Bernice, Mary, Lewis, Mildred, Arlene, John, and Helen. Jean enjoyed telling stories of how she, Bernice, and Mary struck out on their own, moving to Washington, D.C. to become telephone operators. Jean was a long-standing member of Lucy Webb Hayes Rebekah Lodge #126 I.O.O.F. Jean married Louis Howard Dukette, Sr. in 1959 and they managed a full household in the Merrick section of West Springfield with Jean's sons Gregory and Jeffrey Pratt, Duke's children Brenda Wright, Joyce Isabelle, Larry Dukette, and Janice Hall, and their son Louis H. Dukette, Jr. Jean was the proud grandmother of Erica, Alison, Jeffrey, Monique, Luke, and Ethan. She reveled in their accomplishments and took great pleasure in seeing them grow.
