Helen T. Beane

1924 – 2017

Helen (Taylor) Beane, 92, formerly of Feeding Hills, died peacefully Friday with her family by her side. Helen was born and raised in Springfield and moved to Feeding Hills in 1952. She earned her nursing degree in 1945 through the Wesson Memorial Nursing Program and worked as a LPN at Wesson Hospital, Riverdale Gardens Nursing Home, Holyoke Soldiers Home and as a Private Duty Nurse. A longtime member of St. David's Episcopal Church, Helen was active with the Agawam Council of Aging and enjoyed camping and traveling. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Beane, a son Carleton E. Beane and her dear friend Daniel Shean Sr. She leaves two sons Darryl S. Beane and his wife Darlene and Allan M. Beane; four grandchildren Aime, Pamela, Darryl Jr., Nicole and seven great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00pm. A private funeral will be held with burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Jimmy Fund.
