Helen Bernier, 53, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 17th at Holyoke Medical Center. Helen was born in Holyoke, the daughter of Bernard (deceased) and Barbara (Guiel) Danek. Helen worked as the Cook at Dr. Marcella R. Kelly School of Holyoke, MA. She leaves her loving husband of 34 years, David E. Bernier, and her children Amanda L. Bernier, Samantha L. Bernier, and Gavan M. Bernier. She is survived by her siblings Laurel Myers, Bernard T. Danek Jr., and Mary Hammonds, granddaughters Layla and Romy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews; she is predeceased by her sister, Barbara (Petu) Vachon. A calling hour for Helen will be held at Our Lady of the Cross Church in Holyoke on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:30 am followed by a mass in her honor at 10:30 am.
