WEST SPRINGFIELD – Helen A. (Roebuck) Freshour, 100, formerly of Ely Avenue died Monday in a local nursing home. Helen was born and raised in Springfield the daughter of John and Marie (Yactil) Roebuck and has lived in West Springfield for the past 40 years. She worked in the Merchandising Department of the former Forbes & Wallace Department Store. Her husband Russell C. Freshour died in 1964 and a son John E. Freshour died in 1994. She leaves several nieces and nephews and loving caretakers. A private graveside service will be held in Hillcrest Park Cemetery and the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. For more details, please visit curranjones.com.
