WEST SPRINGFIELD – Helen S. (Lach) Slowick, 88, of Prospect Avenue died Friday at home surrounded by her family. Helen was born in Chicago and has lived in West Springfield since 1945. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and the former Holy Family Parish. She leaves her husband of 66 years Frederick J. Slowick; a daughter Nancy J. Giera and her husband Walter of Annapolis, MD; and a sister Dolores Frantz of Texas. She was predeceased by a son, Frederick J. Slowick Jr., in 1991. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Wednesday at 8:30am with Liturgy in St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 10:00am, followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral Wednesday from 8:30-9:30. For online condolences please visit curranjones.com. Memorial donations may be made to the Frederick J.
