Henry S. Desjarlais

AGAWAM – Henry S. Desjarlais, 90 of Washington D.C. passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 28, 2011. He was born in Rutland, VT the son of the late Samuel and Mabel Desjarlais. Henry was a graduate of the High School of Commerce and Bay Path College and was a 20-year veteran Chief petty officer in the United States Navy and served in World War II and Korea. After retiring from the service he was employed by the U.S. Government in Washington D.C. as supervisor for the Veteran's Administration and the Department of Health, Education and Welfare. Henry was the eldest of twelve children and was predeceased by six brothers and sisters. He leaves his sisters, Lorraine Koetsch of Longmeadow, Theresa Cloonan of East Longmeadow, Linda Grimaldi of Agawam; two brothers John Desjarlais of Oxford, NY, Richard Desjarlais of Enfield, CT, many nieces and nephews and his closest friend Mark Brockway of Washington D.C. The funeral will be held at Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday at 8:30 with Liturgy in Sacred Heart Church, Feeding Hills at 10:00am followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
