Henry E. (Buddy) Sullivan, 94, passed away on January 8, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Agawam. Henry was born in Brattleboro, VT on December 26, 1924 to the late Jeremiah and Dorothy Sullivan. Henry served as a Corporal in the 5th Marine Division during World War II. During his service, Henry fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima and was called back for Korea 6 days after marrying Ruth (Noret). After his service Henry managed Atlas Founders from the late 1950's until his retirement at 80 years old.  He was extremely proud of the work he did at the foundry. Most notably he made plaques that sit on the hull of the Titanic and for Springfield's Fallen police officers at STCC.  His bronze plaques can be seen throughout the area on main streets and parks.  He was an avid golfer, loved politics and his garden.  Henry was predeceased by his wife, Ruth (Noret) Sullivan, and his three sisters; Betty Menard, Geraldine Scully, and Jane Lund. Henry leaves behind his daughter Gale Sullivan and her husband Jerry Ray of Westerly, RI; his three sons Kevin and wife Jo of Westerly, RI, Shawn and wife Lisa of Southwick and Patrick and Jennifer Mantzios of Agawam; He leaves eight devoted grandchildren, Trevor Brown, Whitney McIntire, Justin Mulvey, Devin, Curran and Delaney Sullivan, Paige and Makenzie Sullivan.  He leaves five great-grandchildren; and his wonderful friend Lois Ruby. Henry also leaves his coffee gang the "MacDonald's crew".  He was the patriarch of the Sullivan family and he will be missed by his many friends as well as his devoted nieces, nephews and cousins.  His Irish smile and great sense of humor made many people feel uplifted.  His 94th birthday was celebrated in great style with an Irish song fest. Henry's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Francis Murray, APRN Patty Martin and Liz who were responsible for Henry's amazing care.  The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday at 10:30 with Liturgy in St. John the Evangelist Church at 11:30 followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.  Visiting Hours will be held Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.
