Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Hristo Trajkovski, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on August 5, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born in Bitola, Yugoslavia, Hristo immigrated to the United States in 1978 in pursuit of a better life and to be closer to his brothers who had already made America their home. He worked for over 40 years as a mechanic in West Springfield and after retirement, worked part time at Costco. Through determination and sacrifice, he built a life and future for his family. One of his proudest accomplishments was purchasing the family's first home shortly after arriving in America.

A lifelong soccer enthusiast, Hristo dedicated much of his life to the sport he loved. He coached his sons throughout their youth. His passion for soccer continued for many years as a respected referee, where he remained actively involved in the community and formed lasting friendships through the sport. When he wasn't on the soccer field, Hristo could often be found either in his garden or near the water with a fishing rod in hand.

Hristo was predeceased by his first wife of over 26 years, Ilka. He later remarried and shared 30 years of marriage with his wife, Kostadinka. Loving father of Zlatko and wife Nicole, Kire, and wife Donna; his 5 cherished grandchildren, Nia, Kilee, Jacob, Jocelyn, and Jessica. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Valentena and husband, Yaser, and Biljana; and step-grandchildren, Wisam, Lena, Hanna, and Sophie. Hristo is also survived by his brother, Petar and sisters, Milica and Violeta, as well as several dear nieces, nephews and friends.

Visiting hours are Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 4-7 at West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street. Relatives friends are invited to meet at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 343 North Maple Street, Enfield on Monday, August 10th at 10:00am for the Funeral Mass followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
