Irene J. Pula, 86, died Saturday in Holyoke Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of South Hadley and a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. She graduated from South Hadley High School and went to work at Sorbi and Bach Restaurant which was owned and operated by her parents. Irene worked with her husband at Top Hat Supermarket in Holyoke and enjoyed bingo and gardening. She was predeceased by her husband Casimier J. Pula in 1991, her daughter Kristine A. Pula in 1980 and her brothers Peter Sorbi Jr. and Richard Sorbi. She leaves a son James M. Pula and his wife Charlene of South Hadley, a daughter Kathleen R. Desrosiers and husband Richard of Granby, 4 grandchildren, Bethany K. Chrisant and her husband Jonathan, Michael A. Desrosiers and his fiancée Ashley Rannikko, Karalee A. Yvon and her husband Tyler, and James C. Pula and 2 great grandchildren, Brandon and Lydia Chrisant. The funeral will be Tuesday with calling hours from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley followed by Mass at St. Patrick's Church at 11am.
