Irene L. Scafuri

West Springfield – Irene L. (Maynard) Scafuri, 96, of Globe Street died Sunday in a local nursing home.  Irene was born in Springfield and has lived in West Springfield her entire life.  She worked at Milton Bradley and retired from the former Notion Thread Company in West Springfield.  Her husband Patrick Scafuri died in 1990.  She leaves four children William, Albert and Patrick J. Scafuri and Denise Muscaro; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  Besides her husband Irene was predeceased by a son Larry, her siblings Francis, Earl "Sparky", Marion and Pearl and her canine BFF "Buddy".  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday at noon with burial in Paucatuck Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service Thursday from 11:00am – Noon.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.
