Jacob Morris, 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 27, 2017.  Born in Groton, CT, son of the late John and Lillian (Packer) Morris, he lived in Springfield for most of his life.  He worked for twenty-four years at the Hercules Corporation until his retirement in 1983.  Jacob was a navy veteran of the Korean Conflict serving from 1951- 1955 and with the air force from 1956 – 1958.  He was also a longtime member of Bethany Assembly of God and an avid bowler and New York Giants and Yankees fan. He leaves his wife Claire A. (Hall) Morris, two daughters, Kim and Julianne, a step-daughter, Malene, four grandchildren, Keith, Gary, Carly, Rachel, three step-grandchildren, Jeremy, Greg and Sarah and great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday at 12noon at Bethany Assembly God Church, 580 Main Street followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, both in Agawam.
