HAMPDEN – Jacqueline June (Horner) Prior, 92, entered into eternal rest on Saturday October 2, 2021 in Springfield, Massachusetts.  Born on June 18, 1929 in Springfield, Massachusetts, Jackie was the oldest daughter of the late Roy and Margaretta (McClenaghan) Horner. Jackie was predeceased by her husband Gordon of 54 years and her son Robert. Married to Gordon Prior on September 29, 1951 they raised 4 children in East Longmeadow.  Jackie was the mother of Carol, James, David and Robert.  She was sister to Beverly; aunt to Laurie and Ben; grandmother to Jonathan, Katherine, Emily, Christopher, Rachel, Thomas, Jennilyn, and Katie; and great grandmother to Landon, Kolton, Evelynn, Lianna and Theodor. Jackie and Gordon retired to Hampden where she attended the Federated Church.  Her involvement with the local Garden Club and her artistic talents brought over 20 years of designing the annual Hampden Garden Club booklets.  Her artwork included rug hooking, gardening, painting and pottery as well as her beautiful floral arrangements in both her gardens and in her home. As a bird lover, several specially built bluebird houses and feeders attracted many birds which she incorporated into her drawings and stitching. Jackie lived a full life as a wife, mother, artist, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and she will be missed by all that knew her. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 1PM, at the Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker Street, Springfield, MA.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hampden Federated Church.  For online condolences, please visit www.curranjones.com .
