Jaime E. Pabon
1927 – 2010

SPRINGFIELD – Jaime E. Pabon, 83, of East Street died Sunday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Puerto Rico and lived in New York before moving to Springfield 35 years ago. He worked as a Porter for Barton's Candy Company in New York City. Jaime served in the United States Army during World War II and was known around his neighborhood for his piracua (snow cones). He leaves his wife Margarita (Mulero) Pabon; two sons Jose of Northampton and Rene of Georgia; a daughter Carmen Calderon of Springfield; a brother Edgar Pabon; 25 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren as well as relatives and freinds. He was predeceased by three sons Mario, Edgar, and Jamie Jr. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11:00am followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral Monday from 10:00 – 11:00am.
