James Thomas
Clifford
November 4, 1948 – October 21, 2024
James T. Clifford, 75, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 21, 2024. He was born in Springfield, son of the late Oscar J. and Jean (Miles) Clifford, lived in Feeding Hills but spent most of his life in Agawam. Jim and his wife, Therese (Moriarty) Clifford met each other in Agawam in August of 1985 and married on Jim's birthday, November 4, 1987. Their marriage was blessed in 1988 on St. Patrick's Day, as Therese loved her Irish heritage. Jim called her his midnight Irish angel. Jim loved Irish music and took delight in her love of being Irish. Together Jim and Therese had two children, Edward J. Clifford and Meredyth J. Clifford, which he loved immensely. He was so proud of his children who never gave him a day of trouble. Jim was a great father who did everything that he could for his children. Jim would say "I'll do everything I can because there will be a day when I won't be able to and a day when they won't ask." In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by Roxanne, his pet dog and favorite buddy in July 2024. Jim graduated from Agawam High School in 1966. After graduation he attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and furthered his education to receive his master's degree. Jim spent fifty years in long term health care. Jim was a member of the Sisters of Providence associates since 2008. Jim loved to do Tai Chi, golfing and riding his bike. Jim loved to read and enjoyed Irish music with the Healeys every day with Therese. Jim is also survived by his brother, John and his wife Linda Clifford of Florida. Jim believed "Providence works in extraordinary ways." He came to believe this while working with the Sisters of Providence. Another favorite saying of his was "despite indomitable odds, he survived until now. Calling hours are Monday, November 4, 2024 at the Agawam Curran Jones Funeral Home, 745 Cooper Street from 1-3pm with a Funeral Service at 2:30pm. The burial will be private.
