James C. "Jimmy" Gaudrault, 63, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Raymond and Rose Gaudrault, and raised in the Hungry Hill Section of Springfield. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School and later attended Community College. Jimmy worked for Hampden County Correctional Facility for many years and also for the J.C.Penny loss prevention department. Most recently he spent his time enjoying his family, especially his youngest granddaughter which he adored, Olivia M. Goodrow. He grew up playing softball, and loved being a part of his children's sports activities, he was their biggest fan. Jimmy was truly a loving guy who was known for his sense of humor, personality, and kind hearted soul. A sports enthusiast, he loved the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and Boston Bruins and was very superstitious, wearing different sports team attire so his beloved teams would win. He would have been in his glory watching the Patriots win over the Ravens this past Sat. Jimmy will be remembered by his former wife and friend Karen J. Carney. He is survived by his two daughters, Tarah J. Rubet and her husband Alex of Springfield and Lindsey A. Goodrow and her husband Christopher of Wilbraham as well as his grandchildren Talia P. Burgos, Amanie A. Rubet of Springfield, Lawrence Duncan of Hampden, Olivia M. Goodrow of Wilbraham and an unborn grandchild. He also leaves a sister Joan Sobon and her husband Michael of South Hadley; a brother John Gaudrault and his wife Theresa of West Springfield; many nieces and nephews and many close friends. Besides his parents Jimmy was predeceased by a son Timothy L. Gaudrault. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday at 9:00am with Liturgy in Sacred Heart Church, Springfield at 10:00am followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
