WEST SPRINGFIELD – James Ellsworth Green, 86, of Fairview Avenue died Friday in Holyoke's Soldier Home. James was born in Linden, PA, came to West Springfield in 1941 and graduated from West Springfield High School. He attended the Rochester School of Music on a scholarship. Jim served in the Army of the United States during the Korean War. He worked at Milton Bradley Company over 20 years until his retirement in 1996 and was a member of the American Legion in Agawam. He leaves a brother Paul H. Green of Torrance, CA; two sisters Jane G. Bauman of West Springfield and Sarah E. Springer of Southampton and several nieces and nephews. A committal service with military honors will be held Friday at 3:00pm at the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. There are no calling hours and the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Soldiers Home, 110 Cherry Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
